Happy Tuesday, that feels like Mondayβ¦
I spent the Memorial Day weekend celebrating my little sisters graduation from college. Being an older sibling is core to my identity, and as you can imagine, I felt all the emotions watching her walk across the stage!
In addition to the valuable family time spent, I did not open my computer for three days, and did not even think about work. I am thankful that my mind is constantly churning with new ideas AND I did not realize how badly I needed a break.
Here are 3 Things Getting Me Through this crazy journey called life, that I hope will also be supportive for you:
Practice what you preach. This is easier said than done. I share over and over again about having a life-work balance and this weekend was a true reminder that I needed time off.
Give yourself a break before you need it. Look at your schedule over the next few weeks and see if you can take a day or two for you. You do not always need to have an appointment, plan or a specific reason. You deserve to get out of your typical routine, to explore or to rest, and to listen to what your body needs.
Whole heartedly celebrate those around you. If you are reading this post, then I am certain that you have accomplished many hard things. I watched from a distance these past 4 years as my sister overcame obstacles and worked harder than most people I know. What a gift to celebrate her!
xoxo,
Amanda
