Over the last 8 days I planned a storm. The type of storm that doesn’t have you drenched and cold and depleted — the type of storm where you wind up dancing in the rain & creating memories that last a lifetime.
Rewind to Wednesday March sixth… I led the first We All Feel Women’s Circle in Los Angeles!! I have guided We All Feel groups online and across the country, yet the ability to do it in the city I now live in, was special on another level.
The next morning I boarded a flight from LAX to NYC for a long weekend to celebrate my best friends wedding… and to host the first “yoga + connection” event in NYC… and to see family & friends… and to celebrate my birthday. I knew I would be non-stop AND it was non-stop.
Turns out I wouldn’t have had it any other way. There aren’t enough words to share how love & joy filled celebrating my best friends wedding was.
On Sunday March 10th my smiles continued at the Yoga + Connection event. I invited attendees to share a feeling that came up for them over the past week that other people would not necessarily know about.
Words included: anxious, confused, high strung, stressed, rushed & tired. I showed up to teach and provide a space for connection. I was gifted with the reminder of how human this life really is.
I could end this post here although to keep this corner of the internet a bit more authentic I’ll rewind to Sunday March third…
These are some of the feelings and sensations that came up for me before my travels: anxious, scrambled, nervous, self-doubting, nauseas & dizzy.
A conclusion of sorts: unless you intimately know what is going on in someones life… you basically don’t know what is really going on in an acquaintances life. Does that resonate?
Here’s the other thing, I planned a lot and I also ultimately knew that I could handle it. I knew the things going on would fill me up. My social battery never died. I leaned into sleep the week before I traveled, moved my body, took my ginger shots & vitamin C’s. I know what helps me get through & am grateful to support other women with figuring that out too.
Next time you hear “when it rains it pours” I hope you also consider that rain could turn into some of the most beautiful magic you could ever imagine.
xoxo,
Amanda
