September has come and gone quicker than I could have possibly imagined — some moments were joyful or heartening — other moments were a blur or big test.
Transparently, I set a business goal to re-start the Women’s We All Feel Support Circle in September. In reality, the new start date is Monday October 21st.
Have you ever struggled with motivation? (Or is it just me?!) Whether it is a business goal, health plan, mindfulness practice or a personal intention you are working towards… Here are some ideas that might support you:
Acknowledge: Motivation is hard.
Lean into this sentiment. Not in a pity party way. In a “I can allow myself to feel that things are not how I want them to be” and also in a “once I have allowed myself to feel the feels, I can release from them” kind of way.
Remind yourself: I can do hard things.
Trying to make a change in itself is brave.
Reconnect with your why: Stray away from the superficial reasons and instead get clear about the core reasons you are working on a goal. This could be through journaling or conversations with a friend, therapist or mentor.
If you know me, you know I adore leading groups. It is the biggest honor to hold space for women through the messy human experience.
Ask yourself: How can I find joy along the way?
Is it lighting a candle to get in a certain headspace, is it the joy that comes from an inspiring conversation, is it moving your body before the day starts, or the beauty of falling asleep knowing you completed what you set your mind out to do
