If you’re reading this quickly, I am offering a one time workshop in Greenpoint, BK this Monday night that explores relationships… if you know someone who lives nearby and might want to attend feel free to forward this email 💕
And now some thoughts on relationships…
What came up for you when you read the title of this post? Relationships are everything. A sigh? A smile? Tears? Relief?
It is obvious that who and what we surround ourselves with impacts us. Our friends, partners, family, coworkers & strangers have shaped us into the people we are today. Do you feel enlivened and empowered by conversations you have? Or do you feel enraged or let down? How do you speak to yourself on a daily basis? And how do you feel when you spend time alone?
There’s no right or wrong to these questions, rather an opportunity to reflect on your relationship to others and to yourself.
Timing is also everything.
And honestly, if I answered these questions one week ago, my responses would be very different than they are today. I had no idea that leading a workshop on relationships would be so relevant to my life. In fact, it took me longer to get words out this week because I’ve witnessed someone I love really struggle. (It’s why this email is coming to you on a Thursday instead of a Tuesday).
It’s hard to go about day to day tasks when real life is happening. It is baffling to accept that the only relationship we can truly change or have “control” over is the one that we have with ourself.
Someone asked me earlier this week if writing these posts has helped me process my emotions. In a way yes, though the reality is that there is still so much that I experience that is unsaid in each of my shares. I am thankful as ever for the loving relationships in my life. What else supports me? Me! I am letting feelings move through me so I do not get stuck in stories or in the past. I’m “doing the work” and am grateful to share bits and pieces with each of you.
The next We All Feel Workshop topic is on Developing Authentic Relationships. It is a deep dive experience to bring awareness to the relationships in your life, to support you with articulating and moving past tough emotions. It is also a workshop for lightness, smiles, movement, self-care practices and self-development, while surrounded by new community.
I have watched countless times as new people come together, open up to each other, and and experience relief upon sharing what is really going on for them. If you are craving connection on a deeper level or are curious, join us.
xoxo,
Amanda
PS In case no one told you today, I love you.
