Last week on two 90+ degree days, I dined al fresco, delighted in eating my favorite ice cream, and swam my first laps of the season. I reveled in two days of blissful Summer weather and I watched as smiles, skirts, and an overall lightness surrounded me in NYC.
With weather and life you can’t just skip a season. You can’t pretend you’re not depressed or anxious for two days. I’m not saying you will not have joy amidst a time of despair, you can and you will. If you’re hurting now, I even suggest that you allow yourself to feel and revel in the moments of optimism when they come. When enduring a tough time, finding practical and real tools that are unique to you allows for moving through the many seasons of life.
What season of life are you in?
Journal Prompt: This season of my life would be called… because…
Last night was supposed to be the first in person We All Feel group. Instead, I showed up to the physical space alone, after deciding for a few reasons that the new start date is next week, Monday 4/24.
Last night I felt the energy of the physical space where I’ll be leading group, not only for the participants, but for me. What a gift of time. To allow myself to move through, to feel, and process what’s going on in my life, right here, right now, before offering others the opportunity to do the same.
xoxo,
Amanda
PS In case no one told you today, I love you.
PPS The new We All Feel start date is Monday 4/24 and if you have a friend in North Brooklyn who might need some extra support right now… please pass this letter along to them.
